Any Amazon Teamsters (or folks who know em) who are on strike have updates?

We know the news but want to hear from brothers and sisters in the fight.

I can speak some on this. First of all the brothers and sisters that struck their DSP in Palmdale, CA and bringing their strike nationwide are courageous leaders that our union should continue to support. Workers at Amazon are organizing in record numbers against a fierce national union-busting campaign.

Unfortunately the IBT staff amazon division… they are very top down and ineffective at supporting the warehouse workers and independent Organizing Committees and fired staff for taking a worker-led approach, same is true with several locals. We as members should really push that the teamsters work more collaboratively and hand in hand with orgs like ALU, RWDSU, and the independent organizing committees that ARE having major success right now. It makes no sense to me that the teamsters would shun a group of Amazon workers if they are currently joining a different union/forming a new one. If anything, these groups may be more willing to join the Teamsters if they saw us supporting them! There are good people in the teamsters working to get Amazon workers organized and there have been key organizing successes and steps taken but the IBT really should change course to build the momentum needed to take on a corporate behemoth like Amazon, the old organizing models won’t work.

tl;dr: Amazon workers are organizing all over but the IBT and locals are failing to meet the moment and commit to a massive organizing campaign and worker-led labor movement.
