TEAMSTERS GENERAL EXECUTIVE BOARD CONDUCTS FINAL MEETINGS OF 2023
Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman convened a regular meeting of the Teamsters General Executive Board in Washington, DC, on Tuesday. The full board, including representatives of Teamsters Canada, will assemble on Wednesday as well for the last regular meetings of the year.
“It’s been a record year for the Teamsters, to say the least, but we have our sights firmly set on the challenges and opportunities in 2024. Our members expect us to come together and do the hard work that needs to be done to make this union stronger,” O’Brien said. “From Amazon to Delta Air Lines, the American Red Cross, freight, and cannabis, the Teamsters have some major organizing targets heading into the New Year. We also have key contract fights to take across the finish line in delivery, brewery, and motion picture industries. This past year may have been significant, but it regularly feels like we’re just getting started.”
In addition to hearing critical updates on the union’s financial and operational standing from the General Secretary-Treasurer, the General Executive Board received reports from representatives for all core industries, including Warehouse, Solid Waste and Recycling, and Industrial Trades. Department directors for Organizing, Strategic Initiatives, and Political and Legislative Action also gave board members full accounts of Teamster campaigns from the previous quarter.
