After visiting Capitol Waste Teamsters in Revere, Mass., Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien continued site visits with a stop at the UPS Watertown facility. Joined by Tom Mari, President of Teamsters Local 25, O’Brien met with hundreds of UPS rank-and-filers.



The visit marked a homecoming for O’Brien, who served as a Local 25 Business Agent representing Teamsters at UPS Watertown more than two decades ago. He spoke with members about aggressive contract enforcement, exercising the heat-safety protections secured under Article 18 of the current agreement, and preparations for the upcoming 2028 UPS contract campaign.



“More than 20 years ago, I walked through these doors as a Local 25 Business Agent representing the hardworking men and women in this facility. Coming back as General President means so much because I have never forgotten where I came from or who I work for,” O’Brien said. “Titles may change, but my purpose never has. Enforcing the contract, protecting every member, and building strength to win an even better agreement are still the top priorities.”
