Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman spoke with Brookfield Zoo workers this afternoon about their recent strike victory. Joined by John Coli Jr., Secretary-Treasurer of Local 727, the more than 100 members of Local 727 were forced to launch a ULP strike on Monday, May 4. After two days on the picket line, they emerged victorious and ratified a strong Teamsters contract.



“Rank-and-file Teamsters across North America are fighting more and winning more than we have in generations. It’s never easy to go on strike, but you took on the fight with undefeatable militancy,” O’Brien said. “Your courage and commitment to the Teamsters Union makes all of us stronger. It’s an honor to congratulate you on this victory.”
