A group of 20 Republic Services workers in Arizona has voted by a four-to-one margin to join Teamsters Local 104!



The new Teamsters operate the Buckeye Landfill located near Republic Services’ corporate headquarters in Phoenix. They unionized with the Teamsters to fight for a strong contract that reflects and rewards the value they bring to the multibillion-dollar waste giant.



“These proud new Teamsters just sent a powerful message in Republic’s own backyard — that there is nothing this multibillion-dollar waste giant can do to stop workers who are militant and united,” said Karla Schumann, Teamsters Western Region International Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer of Local 104. “We are proud to welcome these courageous new members to our ranks, and we’re excited to get them the strong Teamsters contract that they organized for.”
