Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien walked the belts and met with rank-and-filers at a UPS facility in San Diego early this morning. Joined by Teamsters International Vice President Victor Mineros, Local 481 Secretary-Treasurer Erin Borgardt and Local 542 Secretary-Treasurer Jaime Vasquez, he spoke directly with members about heightened contract enforcement efforts.



“UPS has crossed a line with its illegal buyout scheme and we're going to be out in force to call out this shameful attempt to undermine our hardfought National Master Agreement," O'Brien said. "Rank-and-file Teamsters recognize the scam for what it is: a naked attempt to break our contract and undermine our membership. We’re not going to let CEO Carol Tomé get away with this assault on the rights of our members. We’re already fighting through the grievance process, and we’re going to need all hands on deck to hold this white-collar crime syndicate accountable.”
