More than 50 warehouse workers at Volvo Parts in Joliet, Ill., have voted overwhelmingly to join Teamsters Local 179. The newly organized workers distribute parts for Volvo and Mack trucks throughout the Midwest.



“We organized as Teamsters because we were underappreciated, unheard, and lacked anyone truly advocating for our well-being,” said Bill Zizzo, a warehouse worker at Volvo Parts and a new member of Local 179. “We knew joining the Teamsters was the only way to win the wages, benefits, and respect we deserve. By standing together, we’re demanding fair treatment, real support, and a strong collective voice for ourselves and our co-workers.”
