Teamsters at Real Alloy in KY Win Strong First Contract

Nearly 140 recycling workers, represented by Teamsters Local 89, at Real Alloy in Morgantown, Ky., have voted overwhelmingly to ratify their first union contract.



The new Teamsters agreement locks in strong annual raises, better retirement benefits, and improved time off policies. Workers gained access to Teamsters health insurance that will reduce their deductibles dramatically, in addition to lowering co-pays and out-of-pocket costs.



“This is the first union in Butler County that I’m aware of. And that should give confidence to workers at the surrounding companies to know that they can do it,” said Zachary Taylor, an equipment operator at Real Alloy and member of Local 89.
