Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien swore in new International officers as he and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman received departmental and divisional reports on Tuesday during the year's final meeting of the General Executive Board.



Peter Finn of Teamsters Local 856 and Karla Schumann of Teamsters Local 104 took the oath of office as International Vice President At-Large and International Western Region Vice President, respectively. During the quarterly meeting in Washington, DC, the board heard reports from the General President and General Secretary-Treasurer on the state of the union, as well as from the departments of Organizing, Strategic Initiatives, and Political and Legislative Action. Reports were also shared on International Union finances and from the Amazon Division.



“The Teamsters Union has organized 90,000 new members during the first three-and-a-half years of this administration and we’re investing in robust national campaigns as we roll into 2026, including at major employers like Amazon, Costco, UNFI, and Southern Glazer’s,” O’Brien told the board. “The Teamsters Strike and Defense is nearing $400 million for the first time in union history, and we are applying pressure at federal and state levels to prioritize and pass labor legislation to protect our membership for the long-term. We remain united and focused on continuing to make the Teamsters Union bigger, faster, and stronger."



The Teamsters General Executive Board will resume meeting at union headquarters on Wednesday.
