Teamsters mechanics at United Airlines rallied outside the company’s headquarters at Willis Tower in Chicago this week to demand a fair contract and an end to United’s ongoing delays at the bargaining table. After more than a year of negotiations with its 10,000 Teamsters mechanics, the company which made $57.1 billion in revenue last year continues to stall on key issues including industry-leading pay, job security, and transparency about the company’s growing practice of outsourcing maintenance work overseas.

United Airlines mechanics keep this company flying every single day. But instead of working toward a fair agreement, United’s management has turned delay into a strategy. These workers have waited long enough — it’s time for United to get serious, respect the workers who keep passengers safe, and deliver the Teamsters contract their mechanics have earned.
