Madison Metro Transit workers, represented by Teamsters Local 120, have voted overwhelmingly to ratify a new collective bargaining agreement after nearly a year of negotiations. Teamsters at Madison Metro Transit work as bus operators, technicians, and administrative staff and provide essential public transportation services for Wisconsin’s capital city.

The new three-year Teamsters agreement, which was approved by Madison City Council last night, includes annual wage increases, additional vacation days, and improved language to protect all workers against assaults.

“I’m proud of this contract negotiation and the negotiating team for battling to get the best contract I have seen in my almost 22 years as a Teamster,” said Matt Sarenich, a transit operator and chief steward at Local 120. “This was a huge win and it’s why my fellow Local 120 Teamsters brothers and sisters approved it by nearly 95 percent.”
