Members of the Colorado Spartans, a National Arena League professional football team, have voted to join Teamsters Local 455. The players and coaches organized for improved health care, better retirement benefits, and job protections in the offseason.



By joining the Teamsters, members of the Colorado Spartans will have access to jobs in the offseason at any of the 65 employers where Local 455 has collective bargaining agreements.



“As a coach, I put myself in a position to win, and that’s why I joined the Teamsters,” said Fred Shaw, Head Coach of the Colorado Spartans and new member of Local 455. “With the Teamsters backing us, we can hit the ground running with elite health care, a 401(k), and solid offseason jobs. The union isn’t just about work, it’s about building futures, on and off the field.”
