Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman addressed the Joint Council 10 delegates meeting in Portsmouth, N.H., where he praised the aggressive actions being taken across New England to hold greedy employers accountable and raise standards in critical Teamsters industries. O’Brien and Zuckerman were joined by Joint Council 10 Secretary-Treasurer Tom Mari and President George Belanger, as well as Eastern Region International Vice Presidents Rocco Calo and Matt Taibi.



Teamsters locals across New England have had many notable victories in recent months like organizing wins at All-Star Transportation and CDI in Connecticut, and record contracts at Transdev and DATTCO in Rhode Island, while Teamsters at Republic Services are waging a historic strike in the greater Boston area for fair contracts at the second largest waste corporation in America.



“Teamsters in New England are taking on some of the most ruthless, morally bankrupt companies we face,” O’Brien said. “At Republic Services, Joint Council 10 members are holding the line and demanding their fair share. The fights underway across this Joint Council are setting an example that will reverberate through Corporate America.”
