Hawaii Teamsters Join Nationwide Airgas Strike

Drivers and fillers at Airgas in Hawaii have joined hundreds of Teamsters nationwide who are either on strike or refusing to cross picket lines. The group of more than 40 Local 996 members are demanding that the company stop its illegal, unfair labor practices and offer a fair contract.



Local 996 joins striking Teamsters from Local 507 in Cleveland and Local 701 in New Jersey, who have been on the picket line since June at the company which made $3.8 billion in profits last year. Workers have extended picket lines to more than 15 Airgas locations across 11 states, and the pressure will only continue building. The Teamsters are committed to holding this greedy, lawbreaking company accountable until workers get the respect and contracts they deserve.
