UPS on Thursday sent letters to full-time UPS Teamsters around the country, dangling an insulting buyout plan in front of workers in violation of the union’s National Master Agreement. The corporate proposal would jeopardize the strong Teamsters wages and benefits that UPS workers would continue to earn over the course of their careers and would leave drivers without secure health care in retirement.

The Teamsters Union strongly urges all full-time members at UPS to reject these offensive and illegal buyout offers.

“UPS, under CEO Carol Tomé, has turned a dark corner. UPS has no respect for its unionized workforce,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “They have rolled out an illegal and haphazard buyout plan. They are invading our members’ homes in a cowardly attempt to put pressure on workers’ families. They have violated our contract. And they want to sell our members short to give up their dignified union careers. The Teamsters aren’t buying it, and we’re not for sale.”
