Lake State Railway workers in Michigan have voted to join the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division (BMWED) of the Teamsters Rail Conference.



The 24 workers at the Class II railroad joined the BMWED to fight for the better pay and benefits that come with Teamsters representation.



“We welcome our newest brothers on Lake State Railway, and we are honored that they put their trust in our union to make their railroad a better place to work,” said Thomas Kirby, the BMWED’s Director of Organizing. “It has been a joy to get to know these men. Great things are on the way!”
