    Teamsters General President Sean M

Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman wrapped up their series of worksite visits in Pittsburgh today by walking the picket line with members of Local 249 on strike at 10 Roads Express.

Since February, 10 Roads Express, one of the largest private mail haulers for the U.S. Postal Service, has forced more than 500 drivers nationwide on strike by refusing to bargain in good faith. After reaching an agreement in principle, the company abruptly backed out — illegally walking away from a deal that would have ended the labor dispute and returned with outrageous, unacceptable demands that rewrote key terms of the agreement, and introduced new issues that were never part of negotiations.

“This is a company that receives hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to haul U.S. mail, yet is blatantly violating federal labor law,” O’Brien said. “It's decision to renege on a settled agreement is disgraceful and unlawful. 10 Roads can end this strike immediately by simply honoring the deal it already made.”
