Teamsters at Caesars Southern Indiana Win Strike, Ratify Strong Contract



After a 13-day strike, members of Teamsters Local 89 at Caesars Southern Indiana Hotel & Casino have overwhelmingly ratified a powerful five-year contract. The agreement secures significant wage increases, improved benefits, and stronger workplace protections for more than 140 workers.



The new Teamsters agreement includes $5 per hour in wage increases over the life of the contract, improved 401(k) contributions, a $1,500 ratification bonus, stronger strike and picket line protections, safeguards against subcontracting, and protections against the introduction of new technology.



“Management underestimated our members, but they learned the hard way — you don’t win when you pick a fight with the Teamsters,” said Teamsters General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman. “This contract showcases the strength and value of being a Teamster in the casino industry.”
