Teamsters Push United Airlines Toward Economic Talks
United Airlines Teamsters continued negotiations into Wednesday, hours before the contract's amendable date, ready to finalize noneconomic proposals. However, United stalled progress on these issues.
To avoid more delays, the United Airlines Teamsters National Negotiating Committee pivoted to critical economic talks to focus on wages, benefits, and health care for more than 10,000 technicians. The remaining noneconomic issues will be addressed after economic talks conclude.
“We came ready to finalize the noneconomic items, but United so far has not shown the same sense of urgency or respect for the process as the committee,” said Clacy Griswold, Committee Chairman. “With the amendable date on December 5, we have no time to deal with the company's games. Its time for economic discussions.”
United recently announced a $500 million investment in expanding its operations at Dulles International Airport, reinforcing the Teamsters' demand for industry-leading pay and benefits.
United’s time is up—Teamsters are ready to secure the contract they deserve!
