The Bimbo Bakeries Teamsters negotiating committee has unanimously endorsed a new four-year agreement. Locals 117, 231, 252, 690, 760 and 839 will conduct membership votes in the very near future.
This historic Teamsters agreement eliminates a two-tier wage and two-tier vacation systems and dramatically increases wages, provides big pension increases, as well as significant improvements in retiree health care. There are also major hourly rate and commission increases during the first year of this contract.
“This is a monumental agreement,” said Teamsters Brewery, Bakery and Soft Drink Conference Director Jeff Padellaro. “The new contract that has been unanimously recommended by the negotiating committee finally recognizes and rewards the people responsible for making this company as profitable as it is — the Teamsters!”
