On Monday, Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman kicked off a full day of site visits with United Airlines Teamsters, meeting with technicians from Local 769 at Orlando International Airport. They spoke with rank-and-file members as the United Airlines Teamsters National Negotiating Committee continues to pressure the carrier for a strong contract.
“United Airlines Teamsters have sacrificed everything to help this company rake in record-breaking profits. Now it’s United’s turn to step up and deliver an industry-leading contract,” O’Brien said. “The rank-and-file committee has stood strong and made progress despite United’s games. But let me be clear: we won’t rest until our members get what they’ve rightfully earned.”
More than 10,000 United Airlines Teamsters nationwide are united in the fight for better pay, stronger health care, and the respect they deserve as their current contract nears its amendable date.
“As we get closer to negotiating wages and benefits, United needs to know we won’t back down,” said Martin Acosta, a member of Local 769 and member of the national negotiating committee. “The committee is ready to fight for the compensation we deserve.”
United Airlines Teamsters aren’t backing down. Bargaining with the carrier resumes December 3 in San Francisco.
