UNITED AIRLINES TEAMSTERS SECURE MAJOR WINS IN EIGHTH BARGAINING ROUND
The United Airlines Teamsters National Negotiating Committee wrapped up a successful eighth bargaining session yesterday, locking in critical victories.
Fresh off a tentative agreement on Sick Leave and Occupational Injury, the committee reached an agreement in principle with United on the grievance procedure and disciplinary process.
Thanks to the Teamsters’ relentless advocacy and determination, United must now provide all requested documents used at every stage of the grievance process. This guarantees greater transparency and shields Teamsters from surprise charges or claims by the carrier. The union also secured a neutral facilitator to provide unbiased advice and alleviate the number of pending cases at United.
“For months, we fought tooth and nail to level the playing field for United Airlines Teamsters during the grievance process—and we won,” said Clacy Griswold, Chairman of the United Airlines Teamsters National Negotiating Committee. “This week was a major victory, with agreements on some of the most contentious issues in the contract.”
Negotiations resume December 3 in San Francisco, where Teamsters will continue fighting for the strong contract they have rightfully earned.
