Last week, Teamsters kicked off negotiations with Hertz for a new Western Regional Master Agreement that would protect nearly 3,000 Teamsters at 22 local unions. The current agreement expires on September 30, 2024. The Teamsters have made it abundantly clear that there will be no extensions.

“For months, Hertz has attempted to circumvent collective bargaining and illegally impose rules and standards that were not agreed to by the Teamsters,” said Rocco Calo, Director of the Teamsters Industrial Trades Division. “We will not stand for their disrespect, and we expect Hertz to come prepared to discuss all mandatory subjects of bargaining. Teamsters are the backbone of Hertz and we deserve a contract that compensates our members for their important work and ensures they have strong protections in the workplace.”

In the coming weeks, local unions under the Western Regional Master Agreement will conduct strike votes to prepare for the contract expiration. Negotiations will continue through September.
