TEXAS TEAMSTERS DEMAND UPS DELIVER AIR-CONDITIONED TRUCKS NOW
Members of Teamsters Local 657 rallied today in Texas to demand the company move faster on the union contract it signed with the Teamsters last year and start delivering tens of thousands of air-conditioned package cars. Local 657 represents Teamsters at 22 UPS facilities in Texas.
Two weeks ago, a UPS Teamsters Regular Package Car Driver and member of Local 767 in Texas crashed into a tree after passing out from the heat.
Under the UPS Teamsters National Master Agreement, UPS agreed to replace at least 28,000 package cars with A/C over the life of the contract. But so far, UPS is dangerously behind schedule.
From coast to coast, UPS Teamsters are reminding the company of its legal obligations to workers — and its moral responsiblity to working families. It’s time for UPS to deliver the trucks in Texas and across the nation!
