Rank-and-file Teamsters from across the United States, along with members of the Sort Worker Organizing Committee at DHL’s global hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), traveled to Bonn, Germany, to attend the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). Workers addressed the company’s Board of Directors face-to-face about the global delivery and logistic giants' egregious anti-union behavior.
Despite DHL's claims of being an “employer of choice” that upholds freedom of association and collective bargaining rights, the reality is starkly different. Since CVG workers began organizing with the Teamsters, DHL executives have launched a nationwide anti-union campaign, using intimidation tactics to deter workers from forming their union. Yet, instead of acknowledging these issues and upholding the company’s own policies, DHL’s Board of Directors and CEO, Tobias Meyer, have ignored the company’s illegal labor practices in the United States and dismissed them as merely “local management issues.”
The company’s reprehensible conduct in the United States is an unacceptable attempt to exploit American workers for the sake of profit. Rank-and-file Teamsters are fighting back and demanding accountability! #DHLTeamsters
