ARIZONA TEAMSTERS BUILD INTERNAL ORGANIZING SKILLS TO GROW UPS MEMBERSHIP
On Wednesday, the Teamsters Organizing Department ran a successful Internal Organizing Training for Teamsters Local Union No 104 shop stewards in Phoenix, Arizona. The Organizing Department’s Internal Organizing program is continuing the drive to help locals sign up non-members in Right to Work states and highlighting the gains of the new UPS Teamsters contract.
Yesterday’ training in Phoenix focused on new hire orientations and equipping stewards with information on best practices and other materials to sign up and educate new members. Local 104, along with locals throughout the country, is taking advantage of new language in the contract that allows stewards to remain on the clock during orientations so they can sign up new hires.
Internal Organizing at UPS is key to building rank-and-file strength and enforcing the new contract.
