ANHEUSER-BUSCH TEAMSTERS KEEP PRESSURE ON COMPANY FOR NEW CONTRACT
From Houston to Columbus to St. Louis and Los Angeles, rank-and-file Teamsters continue to practice picket in front of their breweries as the clock winds down for Anheuser-Busch to deliver a fair and respectful new contract to 5,000 workers.
Teamsters’ current agreement expires on Feb. 29. Workers who brew, package, and warehouse Anheuser-Busch’s major brands want assurances that their jobs are protected, higher wages, and retirement investments from the global beer company.
“Do not turn a blind eye to how poorly Anheuser-Busch is treating its workforce if the company fails to come up with a strong contract next week,” said Jeff Padellaro, Director of the Teamsters Brewery, Bakery, and Soft Drink Conference. “These are people’s lives — people who’ve devoted themselves to Anheuser-Busch and have earned to share in its success. Working people will not accept the abuse and insult of such a rich corporation.”
