WORKER-FRIENDLY MASSACHUSETTS GOV. MAURA HEALEY STOPS BY TEAMSTERS HQ
Boston native and Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien welcomed Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey (D) to the Teamsters’ international headquarters in Washington, D.C., on Friday, thanking her for years of union support and discussing next steps on critical issues for the Teamsters Union.
Gov. Healey, going back to her time as Attorney General of Massachusetts, has been a vocal and active champion for workers’ rights. She stood firmly with the Teamsters to protect the right to strike in 2022 and was never shy about her support for UPS Teamsters during our contract campaign last year.
“Teamsters Local 25 in Boston was one of the first supporters of Gov. Maura Healey’s career of service, and the Teamsters Union continues to proudly stand with her as she has staunchly stood by our members,” O’Brien said. “It was great to be able to spend the afternoon together at Teamsters headquarters and talk about the future we have to forge together to protect working families. Make no mistake — working people in Massachusetts and beyond have an actual friend in Gov. Healey.”
