TEAMSTERS TO MOLSON COORS: BARGAIN RESPONSIBLY!

The strike line in Texas only got stronger on Monday as members of Teamsters Local 997 refused to back down from Molson Coors’ bad faith bargaining.

Teamsters have filed numerous unfair labor practice charges against the beer giant. Working families who make Coors Light, Pabst, Topo Chico, Yuengling, and other Molson Coors brands will not accept pathetic wage offers from the company — in most cases less than $1 per hour.

Molson Coors forced workers onto the picket line on Feb. 17 after the corporation failed to move away from its insulting positions during contract negotiations. The Teamsters’ current agreement for 420 workers expired earlier this month.

“Our members want to work, we want dignity on the job, we want to take pride in making these products. But we’re not going to be sold out or sold short by one of the richest companies in the world,” said Jeff Padellaro, Director of the Teamsters Brewery, Bakery, and Soft Drink Conference. “We’ve got 1.3 million rank-and-file Teamsters nationwide who’ve got the backs of our brothers and sisters in Fort Worth, Texas. Workers are fighting for a better future and trying to do the right thing. Molson Coors is doing it all wrong.”
