MORE ANHEUSER-BUSCH TEAMSTERS PRACTICE PICKET NATIONWIDE
Teamsters chanting, “No contract? No beer!” could be heard on Thursday, as Anheuser-Busch Teamsters held practice pickets from coast to coast. Teamsters sent the message to Anheuser-Busch that we are united and prepared to strike if this company doesn’t come to terms on a fair contract by the Feb. 29 expiration of the current agreement.
Members of Local 896 in Fairfield and Van Nuys, Calif.; Local 95 in Williamsburg, Va.; Local 1149 in Baldwinsville, N.Y.; and Local 633 in Merrimack, N.H., gathered outside the breweries, holding signs that read, “Respect Brewery Teamsters, Save American Jobs,” “Raise the Bar on Wages,” and “Not Afraid to Withhold Our Labor.”
Anheuser-Busch will drop millions on its Super Bowl ads this weekend, advertising products that Teamsters make, package, and ship—all while this company fails to negotiate a contract that includes job security and higher pay. Teamsters are demanding Anheuser-Busch invest in workers NOW.
