Teamsters Local 391 VP Rick Armstrong Called Out for Sexual Misconduct

Teamsters Local 391 Vice President Rick Armstrong was called out at Raleigh City Council for a past incident when he was a Raleigh Police officer and took his penis out and begged for sex while on duty and in uniform from an undocumented woman on his route. Raleigh Police Protective Agency and the Teamsters gathered at city council calling for a 15% pay raise for police officers. Several speakers spoke in favor of a 15% raise and other community members called for a ceasefire resolution and divestment form Israel before a speaker said before council: "Rick Armstrong, are you still here? Yeah that whole gaggle, very treyf, he is a great representative of the police. I don't know if you all know, but in 2011 the Raleigh Police Department fired him for soliciting sex while serving tickets, so yeah. Every year this council increases the Raleigh Police Department's budget by millions of dollars. Divest from police and invest in real safety like education, healthcare, low income housing, unarmed mental health task forces". The speaker later said they were in solidarity with a resolution for a workers bill of rights for city workers that includes a $38/hr city worker minimum wage among other pro-worker measures.

This is absolutely unbecoming of a union leader and even sexual assault. Can’t imagine how this fact is going to even help them get pay raises for officers. We should be in a place as a union where it stands with survivors of sexual assault. According to some union members in the local, many members are aware of the allegations but that Mr. Armstrong has denied them since 2011 claiming he was fired for being pro-union. One said they're sure the police department Internal Affairs was surveilling him more heavily as a union leader and through that found the unbecoming conduct that seems to be "legit". He should resign. Hope those in local 391 can get representation from solid leaders not creeps in the future.
