The Teamsters are lauding the U.S. Department of Labor for a groundbreaking announcement that is a huge victory for transparency around collective bargaining.
The Department of Labor has revised the LM-10 forms that employers fill out to report expenditures on union-busting “consultants.” The revision requires that an employer disclose whether it does business with the federal government. Employers under federal contracts or subcontracts will now have to provide their Unique Entity Identifier and furnish information about the federal agencies for which they provide services. This move is set to empower employees of federal contractors and subcontractors, along with the public, with the knowledge of the indirect source of funding used for persuading or surveilling them during organizing and collective bargaining efforts.
The .gov means it’s official. Federal government websites often end in .gov or .mil. Before sharing sensitive information, make sure you’re on a federal government site.
