Day Two of the Teamsters 31st International Convention has wrapped in Las Vegas!



The day started with thousands of democratically elected delegates voting by white ballot to re-elect Sean M. O’Brien and Fred Zuckerman to another five-year term as General President and General Secretary-Treasurer, renewing a mandate for powerful, militant leadership on behalf of 1.3 million rank-and-file Teamsters across North America. Over the next five years, O’Brien and Zuckerman have pledged to continue the fight at UPS and Amazon, strengthen Teamsters density in core industries, defend and improve contracts across every division of the union, and build even bigger bipartisan coalitions to pass the Faster Labor Contracts Act and other legislation to benefit working people.



Delegates heard from Congressman Ro Khanna (CA-17) and Sens. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Cory Booker (D-NJ) about their leadership championing the Faster Labor Contracts Act, as well as from Teamsters who've successfully passed a variety of local and state-level legislation, including the Warehouse Worker Protection Act, the Delivery Protection Act, bans on captive audience meetings, and mandates for human operators in autonomous vehicles.



To conclude Day Two, rank-and-file workers who have taken on some of the biggest fights against Corporate America to demand and command more for themselves and their families addressed the 31st International Convention. The Teamsters Union has set the standard for the labor movement by recruiting 100,000 new members to our ranks in just four years.
