On the first day of the Teamsters 31st International Convention in Las Vegas, Teamsters General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman delivered his report on the state of the union’s finances.



Zuckerman reported that the Teamsters have over $1 billion in total assets and more than $365 million in the strike and defense fund, and he discussed modernization efforts the International Union is engaging in to best serve affiliates.



“The rank-and-file are the reason for every success we celebrate today. They are the reason our finances are strong and why our organizing efforts are succeeding,” Zuckerman said. “They are also the reason the Teamsters remain the most respected, feared, and effective union in North America. And when they are forced to strike, our members walk the line with confidence because they know their union has the finances to have their back.”
