Teamsters General President Sean M. O'Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman joined ready-mix drivers represented by Teamsters Local 313 on the picket line today at Glacier Northwest, a CalPortland company, in Washington State. Teamsters at Glacier Northwest in Dupont began their unfair labor practice (ULP) strike against the company on April 1 after negotiations over a fair contract stalled. The drivers are fighting to address significant wage and benefit disparities with other CalPortland ready-mix drivers in neighboring King County.



Glacier Northwest Teamsters will remain on the picket line until management returns to good-faith bargaining and offers proposals that accurately reflect the importance and reliability of their work.



“If Glacier Northwest thinks it can disrespect our members, they’re sorely mistaken,” O’Brien said. “This company is learning the hard way that when you pick a fight with one Teamster, you answer to all of us.”
