Workers at United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI) in Urbana, Illinois, have voted overwhelmingly to join Teamsters Local 26. The group of warehouse workers, who handle produce, organized to secure higher wages, stronger benefits, and safer working conditions.



UNFI is the largest distributor for Amazon-owned Whole Foods. Since 2022, more than 3,500 UNFI workers have organized with the Teamsters, bringing total Teamsters membership at the company to over 5,500. Across the country, newly organized UNFI Teamsters are continuing to win strong, industry-leading first contracts.
