Today, members of the Teamsters Human Rights and Diversity Commission, Teamsters Solid Waste and Recycling Division, and Teamsters Local 728 participated in the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day March in Atlanta, Georgia. The march celebrates Dr. King’s life and his vision of equality for all working Americans.



Throughout the weekend, Teamsters honored Dr. King’s legacy by taking part in community service events and classes on the history of the labor and civil rights movements. Members also used the opportunity to visit The King Center to experience Dr. King's life first-hand.



Dr. King’s impact on our union and the broader American labor movement continues to this day, which is why our union recognized him as an honorary Teamster in 2023. The Teamsters remain committed to fighting for the dream of economic justice for all workers, regardless of race, religion, or creed.
