Let's welcome Tewksbury school bus drivers and van drivers who have voted to join Teamsters Local 25 in Massachusetts! These 45 Student Transportation of America (STA) workers provide student transportation for the Tewksbury School System and are part of a larger national movement of STA workers organizing with the Teamsters to secure the fair wages and benefits they deserve.

TEWKSBURY SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS AND VAN DRIVERS VOTE TO JOIN TEAMSTERS
On Tuesday Student Transportation of America (STA) workers in Tewksbury, Mass., voted overwhelmingly to join Teamsters Local 25. The victory is part of a national movement of STA workers organizing in school districts across the country to get the representation and benefits associated with the Teamsters. These 45 school bus and van drivers provide student transportation to the Tewksbury School System. The drivers are charged with making sure students from pre-kindergarten to high school get to and from school safely.
“These drivers play a pivotal role in the school system and deserve fair wages with health benefits, equipment that works safely and respect in the workplace,” said Teamsters Joint Council 10 Secretary-Treasurer and Local 25 President Tom Mari. “I look forward to working with them to get them their first Teamster contract, one that they can be proud of and will help them provide for their families.”
“We are very excited to announce we’ve joined the Teamsters family as part of Local 25,” said Loretta Melanson (third from left). “As a small group we felt left behind when it came to wages and benefits. Now as Teamsters, we can leverage their support and strength to get us the improvements in benefits and hourly guarantees we deserve.”
The Teamsters Joint Council 10 New England organizers worked with this group for several months. The workers look forward to getting to the bargaining table and seeing the strength of a Teamster contract.
