Teamsters are lauding New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and Dept. of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Robert Asaro-Angelo, who just filed a lawsuit against Amazon for its exploitative practice of treating Flex delivery drivers as independent contractors. Amazon misclassifies Flex drivers so it can illegally deny them overtime pay, unemployment insurance, and a number of other benefits that are only available to those with employee status.



“The Flex program is a perfect example of how Amazon rips off taxpayers and workers through its destructive business model — all because Jeff Bezos and his minions want to enrich themselves at the expense of the American middle class,” said Randy Korgan, Amazon Division Director. “More states need to follow New Jersey’s example of holding this multinational behemoth accountable by forcing it to follow the law.”
