Sysco continues to undermine the safety of hardworking members of Teamsters Local 853

Sysco continues to undermine the safety of hardworking members of Teamsters Local 853. The company’s refusal to bargain over critical safety issues has brought negotiations to a standstill.

Sysco has less than one week to get serious and present a contract that addresses these safety concerns and delivers fair wages, benefits, and working conditions that meet or exceed the standards already achieved by Teamsters at Sysco’s competitors across the Bay Area.

The Teamsters represent more than 10,000 Sysco workers nationwide, who are closely watching these negotiations. In addition to Local 853 members, over 1,000 Sysco Teamsters in Portland, Sacramento, and Reno have contracts that are expired or expiring soon. If Sysco fails to present a fair agreement by October 31, Teamsters will have no choice but to launch a major strike.

Our message to Sysco is clear: Safety is non-negotiable. Bargain in good faith and present a fair contract now!
