Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman helped celebrate hardworking Teamsters stewards in Indiana on Saturday during the Teamsters Local 135 Stewards Seminar in Lafayette. Joined by Local 135 President Dustin Roach and Secretary-Treasurer Sarah Revard, O’Brien and Zuckerman praised the dedication of the stewards.

Teamsters Local 135 proudly represents 14,000 members across diverse industries throughout central Indiana. Local 135 members have won record contracts this year at Builders First Source, where members won a 35% pay increase and employer-paid Teamsters health care for the first time, Zenith Logistics, where Teamsters won the best-ever agreement at the company, and Troyer Foods, where drivers and warehouse workers won a strong first Teamsters contract. Last week, a group of 203 Horseshoe Casino dealers in Shelbyville, Ind., marched on management demanding recognition as members of Local 135.

"Teamsters stewards know better than anyone that the work never stops," O'Brien said. "But every day we must be focused on improving the lives of members—a task and a challenge that’s always worth the sacrifice.”
