Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien spoke with attendees of the American Rail System Federation’s convention in Nashville this afternoon.



The American Rail System Federation is comprised of more than 3,000 Norfolk Southern railroaders represented by the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division of the Teamsters Rail Conference. It was formed in 2022 to better represent the voices and views of BMWED Teamsters at the Class I carrier.



“Since the start of this year, over 23,000 Teamsters railroaders have ratified new contracts,” O’Brien said. “That is incredible — so many members bringing in more money, locking in better benefits, and securing fairer work rules. And our maintenance of way workers, at Norfolk Southern and beyond, have been helping lead the charge.”
