Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien, Southern Region International Vice President Brent Taylor, and Organizing Director Chris Rosell addressed Local 577 stewards in Amarillo, Texas on Saturday, honoring their leadership and dedication throughout the region.



The visit follows a major contract victory in July for Local 577, when more than 3,000 Teamsters at Tyson Foods of Amarillo voted overwhelmingly to ratify a new, strong collective bargaining agreement. The Teamsters contract at the largest beef processing plant in the United States includes massive improvements, including 32 percent wage increases, more paid time off, and expanded retirement benefits.



The shop stewards seminar, led by Local 577 President Al Brito, focused on giving Teamsters stewards the tools they need for vigilant contract enforcement and to continue building on the momentum of the historic contract win at Tyson. In Amarillo and across North Texas, Teamsters Local 577 proudly represents thousands of workers across diverse industries.
