Teamsters are lobbying every day this week at the Illinois State Capitol as part of the #unitedwemove labor coalition’s demand that state legislators properly fund public transportation. Failure to secure adequate funding could negatively impact more than 1,000 members of the Teamsters, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, and Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes (BMWED).



“Public transit is critical for Illinois’ economy,” said Will Lindsay, Building & Bridges Assistant Foreman and BMWED member. "So many people depend on transit for work, school, and health care. To me, that really shows the importance of sustaining good jobs for transit workers and their families.”
