Costco’s so-called “worker-friendly” image is nothing but a sham, crafted to appease its Wall Street backers while trampling on the rights of its workers. As contract negotiations resume next week, the retail giant has declared war on its employees, launching an aggressive anti-union campaign to intimidate, bully, and undermine the collective bargaining process.
This week, Costco has shown its true colors by outright breaking the law. Management has expelled union representatives from stores, sent workers home for wearing union buttons, and even hired locksmiths to lock workers out of their own bulletin boards. Costco is removing union updates and silencing their voices. But the abuse doesn’t stop there: Costco has gone so far as to call the police on its own employees for standing up for their federally and contractually protected rights.
This isn’t the behavior of a “worker-friendly” company – it’s the ruthless playbook of a greedy corporate bully. Costco wants to intimidate, but the Teamsters aren’t backing down. The fight is on!
