O'BRIEN, PADELLARO REVIEW ANHEUSER-BUSCH CONTRACT
Rank-and-file Anheuser-Busch Teamsters joined a webinar today to review the strong tentative agreement reached this week. General President Sean M. O’Brien and Brewery, Bakery, and Soft Drink Conference Director Jeff Padellaro detailed the economic and non-economic highlights of the agreement.
“This is a record contract that puts more money in Teamsters members’ pockets now and over the long term. This agreement provides the same high-quality health care for all Teamsters and protects every member's job by ensuring no permanent layoffs,” O’Brien said. “I want to thank all rank-and-file members who stood together, practice picketed, and came together to put pressure on the company. This agreement has more gains than Anheuser-Busch Teamsters have seen in any prior contract.”
The five-year tentative agreement protects 5,000 Teamsters at Anheuser-Busch’s 12 U.S. breweries. It includes $8/hour in wage increases, with a $4 per hour increase in the first year, totaling 23 percent in wage increases over the life of the agreement.
“Everyone stands to gain from this historic contract that includes big pay raises; elimination of the second-tier health care, which will save members thousands of dollars; a $2,500 ratification bonus; additional vacation; and retirement protections,” Padellaro said. “We are proud to have reached an agreement that checks all of the boxes that we set out to achieve at the start of negotiations.”
