T-unionLink.org is an independent forum. It is not affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. It is not an official forum of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. We are however official, past and present dues-paying members, officers and allies of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
We are a group of Teamsters with a wide range of union experience. We share a deep loyalty to the union, and we have hope for it’s future. However, the lack of member involvement in the affairs of the union is serious cause for concern. In an era of instant communication, Teamster members often have to rely on information streams that are untimely and rarely critical of leadership or strategy. Traditional union meetings are an important aspect of union membership for which there is no substitute. Yet monthly meetings are difficult for most members to attend and many Local Unions have difficulty reaching quorum. Monthly magazines and newsletters provide opportunities to distribute information broadly, but that communication is one way with no chance for feedback.
T-unionLink.org grew out of previous information sites, T*******Link.org and RTAC (Retired Teamsters Against Corruption). With that experience Tom Leedham, Tim Sylvester, Bill Zimmerman and several others conceived of T-unionLink.org as a way to increase communication between rank and file members as well as officers. We intend this site to be an uncensored discussion place. The T-unionLink.org forum gives members an opportunity to provide feedback to officers and do so anonymously if they so choose. From labor history to strike support, from reports of local union meetings to sharing organizing leads, this is a place for Teamsters to come together.
